  • (Volunteer) Sweet Dream In a Bag Packing Event

    New folks are always welcome! Sweet Dream in a Bag is a 501 (c) (3), Public Charity mission is to gift children living in poverty with new bedding packages. They're a great organization and a great partner of our Denver Young Professionals Kiwanis group. The children receiving bedding usually reside in a temporary housing during the time their family is attempting to rebuild their lives. Each child is screened for bedding needs by the case workers, teachers or agency managers. This event is to help prepare the bedding that will be given away to the kids. A light lunch is provided to volunteers. The organization's organizers are religious, but people of all beliefs are welcome. More info at https://www.sweetdreaminabag.org/

  • Serving Dinner at Ronald McDonald House

    New folks are always welcome! We will be preparing dinner for families that are staying at Ronald McDonald House Charities. Kiwanis will be providing the food, we just need the hands to help make it! We'll start cooking at 5pm (if you need to show up a little late to make it from work that's alright) and will finish cleaning the kitchen around 8pm.   • Serve Dinner to Women & Transgender Individuals in Need (The Delores Project)

    DATE AND TIME: Tuesday, September 17,[masked]:00 PM - 08:00 PM LOCATION: The Delores Project Colfax & Speer Denver, CO 80204 AGENDA: 6:00 Welcome, Overview, and Prepare for Dinner Service 7:00 Dinner Service Begins 7:45 Dinner Service Concludes, clean up WHAT WE WILL DO: Project Helping volunteers will serve a hot, healthy dinner for about 50-60 unaccompanied women and transgender individuals experiencing homelessness. The food is provided, and we need your help to serve it. WHAT TO BRING/WEAR: We will be serving food, and there is a possibility you may get dirty. Dress comfortably and in something that you don’t mind getting dirty. Wear comfortable, close-toed shoes. WHERE TO PARK: The Delores Project has a parking lot. WHERE TO MEET: The Delores Project prefers to keep their address confidential to protect the safety of their guests. Please check your reminder text for the street address. Ring the doorbell marked “Delores Project” and the staff will direct you to where you will need to go. Check in with the Project Helping Kynd Leader when you arrive. They will be wearing a bright green Project Helping t-shirt. Your Kynd Leader will be with you the entire experience to make sure you have a blast! OTHER DETAILS: The Delores Project provides a welcoming, low-barrier shelter and services for unaccompanied women and transgender individuals during times of homelessness. We believe that hospitality, respect, and regard for the dignity of each individual lay the groundwork for forming positive relationships leading to lasting change.

  • There With Care Fundraising Event

    There with Care, an organization that provides support for families during critical phases of a medical crisis, is looking for volunteers to help with their annual fundraiser. The volunteers would be on the breakdown crew and would be working late (9:45p-11p). They will serve pizza to the volunteers! They're a great organization that is projected to serve 600 families over the course of a year.   • Wanderlust 108 5K- Water Station Volunteer
