Let's get out of town for the weekend and do some camping and climbing at Vedauwoo in Wyoming. This area is well known for its amazing granite formations offering incredible crack climbing, particularly of the offwidth variety. The climbing style is predominantly trad, with a few sport climbs here and there. I intend to climb routes in the 5.7 to 5.11 range, both single-pitch and multipitch.
The plan will be to meet at the listed parking lot at 4pm on Friday to arrange carpools. Drive time from the lot to the campground is approximately 2 hours. We'll set up camp Friday night and possibly do a little climbing in the evening. We will climb all day Saturday, climb Sunday morning, and then drive back after we've had our fill. I anticipate getting back to Denver no later than 6pm on Sunday.
The size of this trip is being limited to keep it manageable and to ensure everyone gets plenty of opportunity to climb. Priority for this trip goes to people I've climbed with before, particularly those who can be part of the Friday through Sunday carpool. If you are unable to make the full carpool and instead plan on coming up later or leaving earlier, be sure to note that in the question box when you RSVP. You will be left on the waitlist and added to the going list if there is room.
RSVPs for this trip will open Friday, July 27th at 9am. Because the trip size is limited, only RSVP if you are serious about attending. I will remove climbers who have a history of no-shows or bailing at the last minute. It is your responsibility to keep your RSVP up to date; if your plans change, then update your RSVP accordingly. This is expected whether you are on the going list or on the waitlist. If you are not on the going list, please do not show up unannounced.
This trip is weather dependent. If bad weather is in the forecast, I may cancel or opt for a different location.
