If you will be 50 years old or older by December 31st of this year, you can play with this co-ed league. They play at different locations around the front range area between 11am and 4pm every Wednesday in the fall and winter. Many of the local recreation centers have teams.
Jose says " Are you SURE your a volleyball player Davido? I mean your last spike flew about as good a bird with one wing! "
Pauls' team wins all three of their first league games in division 2 September 4th 2013!
To be clear, this is not a drop-in. Gotta get on a team 3 days in advance or arrange to be sub'. There is a official womens' sub' list for all divisions, and a division 1 through 3 mens' sub' list. That doesn't mean that you can't sub' on any team that wants you to be on their team permanently. If you are interested you can drop by and watch a game or two for free. See if there is a team you would like to play on. Fees vary for each team because the recreation centers charge different amounts.
There are 8 divisions in this league, so there is a place for every level of player. It is indoor hard court 6 on 6 volleyball. The upper divisions mostly play 6/2 and 5/1 offenses. There is always a high demand for expert level women to play in the upper divisions, but really everywhere, as there is a shortage of women. This year all teams must have a least one woman on their team. Some teams have 5 or more women.
I have played many years with this league, but am only currently signed up as a sub.
Many of our senior meetup members play with this league.
There is as least one former Olympian playing with the division 1 league.
