  • Nov 23, 2012 · 6:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Last Friday we had 85 players, and Sunday 20.

Given that it's a holiday weekend, I have no idea where the numbers will be. Therefore the following plans are based on having enough people. This week, these formats may change depending on how many show up.

Friday Night All courts start at 6:30PM.
Court 1 will be Competitive (A/OPEN) Royalty of the court format, anyone can enter their team, but you cannot break up an existing team, No Limits
Court 2 will be Pre-Competitive (B) Royalty of the court format, anyone can enter their team, but you cannot break up an existing team, 4 game royalty limit.
Court 3 and 4 will be public open gym, First winner stay on, then two on and off, everyone plays.

Sunday will start at 2PM and will be two courts for players B and above only. Beginners are asked to join us on Friday night on court 3 and 4.

Momentum Volleyball Club
7347 south revere parkway unit b-100, Centennial, CO

This is in the back of an industrial and commercial complex. From Revere, when you see the sign for centennial distribution center, turn in and make first right, skip the first buildings on right, second set of buildings on right.

$5 gets you access to the entire facility, including the gym and workout area.

Our Definition of Levels:

Competitive – A-Open

Players that are competitive usually have formal training and may have played in college. They are experienced and know how to run advanced plays and formations with almost flawless ball control.

Pre-competitive – B

Players that are pre-competitive usually lack the level of formal training of Competitive players, and area usually not as experienced, but are not beginners. They have decent ball control, but may make several errors in passing, and may make errors in reads. The know basic formations.

Recreational – Developing

Players that are recreational/developing usually are just getting started in Volleyball, they have had very little or none formal training.

Formats

Royalty of the court

Teams form by the players themselves and play against each other for the right to stay on and play more, or until they quit. New players must form their own teams or know someone that will let them play on existing teams, they cannot jump on an existing team uninvited. Defeated teams must get in the back of the queue of the waiting teams. Winning team stays on. Games to 21 (cap 25) if there is less than one other team waiting to play. Games to 15 (cap 19) if there are more than two teams waiting to play. 5 Minute break between games. Old Net Rule (any contact). Men’s height net, no gender rules.

First Winner Stay on, then two on and off

Teams form by the players themselves. Wander the courts and make friends with other pre-competitive players if you are not on a team. On pre-competitive courts, talk to Tony if someone doesn’t fit in. They won’t be ejected, but will be asked to move down and given a voucher for training. The first game of the night, the winner stays on. Then, each team stays on two games win or lose, and then they are off. Games to 21 (cap 25) if there is less than one other team waiting to play. Games to 15 (Cap 19) if there are more than two teams waiting. 5 minute break between games. Old Net Rule (any contact). Men's height net, no gender rules.
