The smaller break-out groups allow more discussion. Much better for me than the simple introductions of the main group.

I am very glad I came. An articulate and honest group of people. A valuable antidote to my tendency to isolate, a tendency evidently shared by others in the group. I look forward to attending future meetings.

I hope youhad a really good time. But I would have hated to get there and complain that I was feeling well. Hope to see you guys next meeting.

I AM ALWAYS IMPRESSED WITH THE STRENGTH AND PERSEVERANCE OF THE MEMBERS I SEE OVER AND OVER. WHAT A REMARKABLE GROUP OF PEOPLE. And- - - nothing has happened in the two years since I wrote that to make me think any differently. Some folks go away other join, but always the chance to share our stories in a room of people who don't judge but know where we come from is something very special

  • Depression and Bipolar Support

It was my first time going to a support group. So it was a big step but I am a very positive person and I dont take negatives away from anything if I can. I took all positives away from the meeting.

  • Depression and Bipolar Support

Large, diverse, and intelligent group of people with similar experiences. I highly recommend you get off the couch, close down the internet for one night, and just come! You never know what might happen...

The idea of having a community of people with shared life experiences is so healing. I think one of the most significant losses for unipolar and bipolar people is the enormous sense of loneliness and isolation that occurs after the onset of illness. What a relief it is to have the true understanding, the camaraderie, and support of others who are facing similar problems.

  • Depression and Bipolar Support

A wonderfully, diverse group of people sympathetic and empathetic to our commonality. I learned that you will be encouraged to share and care with no pressure.

  • Depression and Bipolar Support

I think it is helpful to go to a group like this, especially for people with depression, who can often have the tendency to isolate themselves, so you realize you are not alone in your sufffering.

  • Depression and Bipolar Support

To hear that others have the same struggles and know that they gradually get through them and find their own solutions.

  • Depression and Bipolar Support

The group members are: considerate; friendly; supportive; willing to provide quality, boundary-conscious feedback; and, eager to share information--what's worked for them and what hasn't and isn't. In addition, the space feels very safe, making it that much easier to share...whatever. What's more, the organizer is awesome!! He does a wonderful job in keeping the group well-informed--note our group's Mailing List, Message Board, and Files sections, in particular--and is also quite good at moderating/facilitating our meetings, and maintaining a sense of order while doing so. He (along with our other members) helps to ensure that those who care to share are able to, without pressure and judgment, and demonstrates a strong commitment to our meetings starting and ending on time. : ] No complaints; nothing but superlatives--which is *golden,* especially when one is desirous, committed, and working to better cope, manage, overcome, survive and even thrive in life!!
