This month, by popular demand, we'll be presenting on Dreamweaver.
Many of our group have described that they use Dreamweaver regularly, but since they were trained to code everything for themselves they essentially use Dreamweaver as a glorified text editor. This essentially bypasses much of the power and advantage of using a powerful visual tool to create and maintain your designs.
This month we'll look at how you can use some of Dreamweaver's WYSIWYG features to streamline your workflow, increase your productivity *and* learn how to code even better.
This month's guest speaker is Patti Winter. Patti has a master’s degree in Internet Business Systems and a master’s in Epidemiology. She has been using Dreamweaver since 2003 and is currently focusing on mobile app development.
See below the Agenda for additional presentation information.
6:00 Meetup, hellos
6:30 Welcome and introductions
6:45 Dreamweaver WYSIWYG features
8:00 Closing discussion
My WYSIWYG presentation will have an emphasis on Dreamweaver's new features and mobile app development (or at least some asides depending on the audience's interest) as well as DW's new tools/improvements such as
- applying drop shadows
- CSS rounded corners
- alpha transparency with HSLa and RGBa color formats
- viewing the results in Live view
- multiscreen preview, etc.
- Div tags
- situations where it might be best to work in code view due to the possibility of unwanted tags being inserted when working in design view and the property inspector, etc.
