Saturday Group Hike: Ilkley Cow & Calf Adventure 🌿

Join us on Saturday 23rd for a scenic medium-level hike around the iconic Cow & Calf Rocks at Ilkley Moor!

📍 Meeting Point: Cow & Calf Rock Cafe
(Hangingstone Rd, Ilkley LS29 8BT — located right by the main Cow & Calf car park, with coffee, snacks, and a popular ice cream parlour 🍦)

A fun and rewarding hike with stunning moorland views, rocky trails, and moderate uphill sections.

👟 Footwear:

  • Trainers are perfectly fine
  • Hiking shoes are recommended if you have them for extra grip

🚆 Travelling by Public Transport:

  • From Ilkley Train Station / Bus Stop, it’s approximately a 30-minute uphill walk to Cow & Calf Rock Cafe
  • Taxis are also available from the station for quicker access

🚗 Car Pick-Up / Drop Option:

    Yes, beginners with moderate fitness should be comfortable. The first 15 mins could be difficult followed by moderate difficulty. But overall suitable for medium fitness.

  • What shoes should I wear?
    Trainers are absolutely okay, though hiking shoes are better if available.

  • How long will the hike last?
    Approximately 3 hours starting from Cow & Calf cafe depending on pace and breaks. Add 30-40mins extra if coming by walk from Train station

  • Are food and toilets available?
    Yes — the café has refreshments, snacks, ice cream, and facilities.

  • What if weather changes?
    Please carry a waterproof layer as weather on the moor can shift quickly.
