Are you currently using GNU/Linux as a desktop operating system?

Yes

Which is your favorite distribution of GNU/Linux for the desktop?

Ubuntu

What interests you most in using GNU/Linux as a desktop OS?

As a professional who makes a living writing server-side Java, I spend a lot of time in the command line and I have found that it is more suited for my needs than Windows and especially OSX. I like that it runs on commodity hardware unlike OSX, is far more usable than OSX, and with apt-get, I can setup an environment much faster than I ever could with the windows equivalent. In short, desktop Linux is a perfect environment for me to be productive at what I do for a living.
