DevOps Singapore Meetup #10: Stacko

Session: Stacko - ruby gem that make it easy to spin up an EC2 instanceand setup a Rails ready server

Presenters: Winston Teo, Abhaya Shenoy & Mohan Krishnan from Neo

Details:

Stacko is a gem that make it easy to spin up an EC2 instanceand setup a Rails ready server(https://github.com/winston/stacko). It is a light weight wrapperaround knife-solo, chef-solo and comes with a chef recipe that pullsin recipes from the Opscode community. The goal is to make it reallyeasy for someone who knows little about Chef to get up and runningusing Chef from the start. Our experience has been that there can bequite a learning curve to learning Chef and for small projects thismakes it feel like an overkill.

Apologies! I am assisting at a Introduction to PHP for Beginners workshop as a teaching assistant. Otherwise, I would surely go for the DevOps meetup. I'll see you all at the next meetup. :)
