💃 Where to now with Helm v3 – Kelly Griffin

You probably heard about Helm and some of you use it heavily - despite the recent criticism around this tool. No longer a sub-project under Kubernetes, Helm is a package manager that provides an easy way to find, share, and use software built for Kubernetes. Helm removes complexity from configuration and deployment, and enables greater developer productivity. However there is a new and far more flexible Helm version coming – version 3.

The Helm team have been working on addressing several key issues in Helm, such as the security model and big, unmaintainable YAML templates. These improvements, as well as some new functionality are all part of the alpha release of Helm v3. We will talk all about what to expect in the current alpha Helm 3 as well how you can get started.
