RE: [dfa-23] Help Us pick our next Mayor..Draft Lori or Donna for Mayor

I'm sorry OneFather, I have to respectfully disagree with you.  Mayor Filner will be leaving office.  He may resign.  He may be recalled.  He may hang in there for three years and be voted out of office.  Do we want to hand the mayor-ship back to the old guard when that happens?

In my humble opinion, Mayor Filner is the one who made it easy for Republicans.  He has put the Progressive movement and the Democratic Party in San Diego in serious jeopardy by claiming to be for women's and worker's rights while harassing women and those who worked for him.  I don't believe that either Donna or Lori are part of a  coup d etat and I am not out of my mind.  I have been in a situation where the CEO of the company I worked for was harassing women employees and they came to me, their manager, to complain about it.  I  know how difficult it was for Donna and Lori to hold the information in as long as they did.  How would you feel about it if they knew what was going on and kept it a secret?  What if it was your wife, mother, or daughter who was being harassed?  No, unlike Republicans, San Diego Democrats police their own.

The local Media is concentrating on what the mayor is up to.  Kevin Faulconer is on the news several times a week.  Carl DeMaio is mentioned, and yes, some corporate Democrats are mentioned.  Maybe If two very credible Democrats are part of the Mayor debate it will focus attention away from Mayor Filner and the Republicans getting in line to replace him and attention towards who is the best, experienced, reputable Progressive Democrat for the job.

How can anyone support the betrayal of of a Democrat Mayor and then support their benefiting from their coup d etat?

What has the Democrat Party in San Diego turned into? A Monster?

Have you lost your mind?

You made it easy for a Republicans...

We don't know exactly when our mayor may be leaving office. But, we need to be ready to keep Progressive ideals and causes from leaving with him.

The time is now to move the conversation from what it is to what it should be. Now let's start a  discussion of which Progressive candidate should be mayor rather than which Republican or which corporate Democrat should run.
The Race has to be about respect
. Respect for women
• Respect for workers
• Respect for taxpayers

After much discussion , we concluded that Donna Frye or Lori Saldana are the kind of leaders we need as our next mayor and they have more of a chance of winning a special election than most others likely to run.

Join us in a draft Donna Frye for Mayor and draft Lori Saldana for Mayor banner waving!
