The DFW Pit Crew is a group of responsible owners of pit bull-type dogs who are interested in socializing, exercising and training their dogs. Most meetups are held in public places (parks, dog-friendly restaurants, shopping areas etc,) so people can interact with our dogs and learn more about them.
For the pups who are socially awkward, we have group walks in less populated areas where the dogs can learn to feel comfortable and build trust & confidence. We also host educational workshops on dog behavior, CGC certification, therapy dog evaluation and dog sports like agility, flyball, disc, dock dogs & weight pulling.
By joining our group, you become a part of a community that includes other dog owners, rescues, veterinarians, trainers, groomers and many other dog pros...so you'll always have somewhere to turn when you have questions. We have people here to provide guidance about adopting, fostering, training, behavioral & health issues, nutrition, volunteering, which toys are best for your dog, etc.. there's always someone here to help!
The best part is that this is a 100% judgement-free zone. We all love these dogs and understand them. Many of us (myself included) have reactive dogs who put on a pretty ridiculous show when they're around other dogs, so you'll never get the "stink eye" from anyone in this group. We are your new friends.
Let's stand together to make a difference in the lives of our dogs and insure a better future for pit bull-type dogs everywhere!
