Studio Lighting Basics Instructional Class

This workshop is intended to show the photographer how to set up and work with studio lighting. I will be tethering my images during this session.

I will be discussing and demonstrating various studio lighting techniques that I use for various image looks. Each tutorial is meant to provide the photographer with the knowledge of how I use lighting for my images. These sessions are meant to help enhance the look and quality of your images as well. This event is very simple in its focus and open to everyone from beginners to more advanced photographers. Every lesson taught is fundamentally vital for all novice photographers to gain the skills needed while using studio strobe lighting equipment.

We will discuss basic photo terms • Studio Photography • Why shoot in a studio? • Typical studio equipment • Studio lighting • Working with Backgrounds • Placing the lights • Exposure meters, do I really need one? • Tripods/monopods • Camera Controls – shooting in manual.

We will have some hands on shooting experience using the various lighting setups so bring your camera.

This is not a model shoot for your portfolio, but rather an instructional class so you can use what you learn and apply it in your photography

Let's do a model shoot instead, and incorporate the lighting lesson into it. Just a suggestion.
