🎙 Host = Shane
🎤 Caitlin Robbins and Maddie Taylor from what3words – “Meet me at apple.banana.spoon”
Changing the way 7 billion people talk about addresses is hard. To work at what3words you must believe that creating a new global standard in the form of three words is a wonderful thing. Maddie & Caitlin explain the marketing challenges and lessons learnt within a rapidly scaling organisation. Aiming to deliver a compelling and more consistent story across everything we do. One that challenges and transforms the way people think and talk about location, that helps save lives and improves businesses.
what3words was founded in 2013 in London, UK by Chris Sheldrick. Chris worked in the music industry organising music events around the world. When bands and equipment constantly got lost trying to find venues and festival locations, it became clear that regular street addressing wasn’t good enough, and the world needed a simpler way to talk about precise locations – the idea for what3words was born. what3words is used by over 1000 businesses, government organisations and NGOs in over 170 countries. It is used across diverse industries including automotive, navigation, logistics,
e-commerce, post, travel, emergency services, drone routing and disaster response.

Having run a software business, started a tech start up, been a digital marketer and grown a business start-up service, Charlotte’s observation is that continual development of your own and your employees’ digital skills is key to achieving your goal quicker, smarter and slicker.
