NOTE: This is through Goldstar. Purchase sooner than later to ensure you get the deal. Sold out is sold out. Only RSVP after you have purchased your ticket.
OK I hadn't planned this but it came up on Goldstar and since one of our members, John and I were discussing an event at the Autry, I figured it was kismet (and I'm all about the cheap price).......
How cute are these little guys?? :))
Are you a closet cowboy/cowgirl?
Well this event will let you come enjoy the real thing with good food, blacksmithing, gun slinging, rope demonstrations and lots of music and dancing. There will be activities for kids and a scavenger hunt through the museum. Want some chuck wagon food? BBQ sauce tasting? You'll also have full access to the museum which has a wide selection of exhibits, including a brand spanking new one on the Colt Revolver. Come take a curator led tour. Personally, I'm going to pan for gold and then take off with my first million......
You can purchase the $11 ($7 for seniors) tickets through the museum (or it's free to members of course) BUT for the time being you can get them for 'free' through Goldstar. The fee from Goldstar though is $4--whatever--$4 is less than $11. Click on the link below to get there and search for AUTRY
Note Goldstar's advice:
Advisories and Restrictions No food or drink is included in the ticket price. Food and beverages are available for purchase separately at the event.
This festival tends to draw large crowds, so please be prepared for lines. All food and drink options are not guaranteed for the entire duration of the event, as availability can vary based on time and event attendance.
I have an event earlier in the day so can't be there until 1PM but I figure 4 hours will be more than enough of cowboys and museums.
OK this might be one of my favorite lines from a website:
[Please note: Visitors of all ages are encouraged to dress up in cowboy and cowgirl Western gear. However, guns, including replicas, will NOT be allowed on the premises.]
hahaha......so keep that in mind kiddies.
P.S. I don't dress up--I have no suspension of disbelief but feel free if it moves ya!
