Hi Dive Animals,

please see the message below. I let you respond to Clara if you have seen the Hilton Aeolid here in SD.

Cheers,

Remi

Hi Dive Animals SCUBA Club!

I am Clara Jo King, a biology Masters student at Cal Poly Pomona under Dr. Angel Valdes.  I am currently studying the north ward migration of the sea slug Phidiana hiltoni, which is found all along the coast of California.  Recently they have appeared much farther north (San Francisco area) than ever before, and I am trying to genetically determine their population of origin.

Unfortunately, I am having trouble finding specimens from the San Diego area population to include in my study despite many trips out in the past year.  I was wondering if anyone there has records of seeing this particular species while diving in the past, where it was, and if anyone sees one in the future, if they would be willing to collect it for me.  I grew up in San Diego (Imperial Beach to be specific) so I would be very willing to pick it up if anyone did happen to collect anything.

Thank you so much for your time, and please let me know.

Clara Jo
