Star Wars mini campaign using the FATE system (Starblazer Adventures)

This is a campaign set in the Star Wars universe and run using the FATE system, specifically the Starblazer Adventures RPG (though we might draw upon other FATE games for certain sub-systems).

The game is set a few years after the events of Episode III Revenge of the Sith; the Empire is slowly stamping its authority on the galaxy and what remains of the Jedi order are in hiding. The player characters are a ragtag crew of a freighter doing whatever dirty jobs they need to survive in the outer rim, ranging from smuggling to bounty hunting. However, they are at heart meant to be heroes - the truly cold blooded and ruthless characters are those the PCs may go up against!

The campaign will likely run for approximately 16 to 18 weekly sessions, with the plot being tailored to the characters and very much of a "sand-box" nature.

IMPORTANT!

Spaces are reserved for the following players:

There is no space for any more players at present, so please do not RSVP Yes unless you are one of the people listed above. Thanks!

As David said, FATE isn't a class based RPG, rather you as a player decide on a character concept that you will enjoy playing and that will fit in with the campaign concept and the other player characters, and then you select Skills (covering both natural abilities like strength as well as learned skills), Stunts (like Feats in D&D) and Aspects (descriptive phrases that describe your character, his attitude and his connection to the world at large, e.g. "Smuggler with a Heart of Gold", "This blaster has never failed me yet!" etc)

Don't worry, all will be explained at the game.

I think classes are a bit more abstract with the fate system. At the moment we have a Jedi engineer, a infiltrater from an ancient lost race and a force trained captain. Fate lends itself to being more free form so its more character driven. My suggestion would be that you come up with a character your comfortable with, for your first maybe emulate a character you know well from a show or use a character you have well defined in your head and adapt it to the setting.

Hello all! I haven't been able to get in touch with one other player, but as the rest have no qualms about adding a new player then...
    Welcome aboard Jack! :)

Given the campaign concept described above, what sort of character were you hoping to play that would fit in well with a ragtag crew of a freighter? I would probably advise against a Force user just because we have two already :)

In terms of mechanical character creation, we can do the bare bones at the start of the session and complete the rest on the fly (FATE is an easy enough system that you can do that).

    Cheers!
