PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF TIME FOR THOSE MAKING MOULAGE TO 12 NOON. IF YOU ARRIVE EARLIER YOU WILL HAVE TO KNOCK ON THE DOOR AND WAIT UNTIL SOMEBODY LETS YOU IN.
The picture above is of starting to wrap ( this isn't the finished product asI have not paid much attention to the shoulder area, just a rough try out) and with some body points marked. You will be pleased to know that it is not as hard as I thought, the above is about 15 minutes of wrapping. I then had it cut off and, even with just a few layers it kept the shape. I have high hopes for this event.
We have the one-time use of a small function room in Balham, very near the tube station. This is going to be used to complete items with hand sewing for a charity shipment to Nepal so we would like a little of your help with this- sewing on labels, tying up loose thread ends etc. However, since this is a private space, it is also an opportunity to do something that we could not do in our meetups at public venues and that is to create a moulage. To understand the aim of this please read these posts by the fabulous blogger FABRIKATED
Read these posts and let me know by writing a comment if you are interested in coming or have any queries so that I can send you further details and tell you about the other opportunities for sewing and fitting that there will be on the day. Numbers are limited and there will be a small charge for the materials needed to make the moulage (probably less than £5). DO NOT RSVP yet and make sure that you are able to receive personal messages from the London Dressmakers Club by email otherwise any message sent directly to you will probably go directly to your Spam.
We won't be able to use this venue again for free, so this is a unique opportunity. If you just want to come along and sew, get help with fitting etc and do not want to make a moulage then you are welcome. Just say so in the comments section so I can send you details but do not RSVP, that is only for those who want to make a moulage.
