The Drone Lab - San Diego Maker Faire Planning and Full Build Demo

San Diego Mini Maker Faire: We are going to be hosting a large part of the San Diego Mini Maker Faire which will be in December. So we'll start our plan for that. We are working with execs from 3DR to put on a great effort and Chris Anderson will speaking among other really cool things.

For the demo build and to those of you just getting started and ready to get your own rig built...

We are going to demonstrate a full build at this meeting.

If you are interested in building your own, you will see and know everything you need after attending.

We will then do a full "Group Build" next month. If you'd like to be take part in that please sign up at

There are only a few build spots left.

The lab will be open every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month and for other TBD events.

Bring any project in any stage or condition that you'd like to work on and/or share. We'll do a show and tell and show some footage.

We have several donated rigs that we can learn from, build, fly and repair.

We will plan some projects to work on as a group.

We'll also be finalizing the group build/classes kits and begin taking orders.

We'll hopefully have some speakers at the next lab.

In a video group I belong to, we create a years worth of topics. And each meeting follows the same format. one hour social, then a formal meeting, announcements, etc.

I tend to agree. If you've ever been to a RC Club meeting it's usually old business, new business, and then open floor for discussion and show and tell. The last show and tell I was expecting somewhat the same format. A little more structure will go a long way with these meetups.
