Maybe we could raise funds to have them moved?  There are ways (expensive) of having trees moved.  There may also be a possibility of using the "moving" process to take them out temporarily and put them back in the same-ish place.    My understanding is that this is that it is very expensive..  it would support the case for keeping the trees alive greatly if we were able to fund it versus telling the government, which my understanding is currently strapped for cash, to spend more money.
