Alex (or anyone else really) - another question about agile...

Can Agile really be followed if a team or person is working on multiple projects at one time? If so, how does this look?

    May 31, 2013

    • David M.

Of course! Our morning standups often involve team members that are currently working on more than one project. Although we try to ensure resources are assigned to no more than 2 projects at any given time. Prior to beginning a new project the PM would review current resource levels and plan accordingly to ensure client expectations can still be met. If not, this would be communicated to the client and modifications to the project timelines will need to be done.

Thanks David -- in my perfect world I'd be able to focus on one project at a time - even 2 would be nice at times! I have 3 key projects on the go right now all at different stages - makes things a little trick from time to time.

On a side-note... if you have a standing desk, do you have to sit down at the stand ups?!

Had a great time! Thank you all for coming! Yes, we'll be planning for our next event - any recommendations for the agenda would be great. See you all soon.

I like the path we are on considering tools like GIT and drush - would also like to talk about best practices with these and in using Pantheon.

But I am happy to talk about anything Drupal!

      Thanks again David!
Seconded for drush and anything else command-line or otherwise that I can use to speed up the typical dev-stage-prod song and dance.

Great meeting! Thanks to Alex and Clint for presenting. It's always good to have a refresher on the agile methodology. For team leaders looking to encourage designers to get on board - here's a quick read on how the agile method can apply to design. http://webdesignledger.com/tips/applying-agile-principles-to-design

Great atmosphere of sharing and discussion. Thanks Clint for your presentation on git. Sorry I missed most of Alex's presentation, but tail end was nice overview of impact of agile processes.

Thanks for coming out, Teresa, and I'm glad you enjoyed the presentations.

It was actually my first time attending these meetups as well, and I really enjoyed it too.

Lots of learnings and laughs. Looking forward to the next gathering.

Great meeting last night - Thanks to Alex for your presentations and Clint for show us how to GIT'er done! Lots of great things to think about.

    May 29, 2013

    • Andrew G.

See, the problem with git jokes is that everyone has their own version...

      Nice Andrew, nice...

Had a great time tonight. Thanks! Great to meet local (and semi-local) drupalers. Looking forward to the next meetup.

Relatively new to Drupal, brand new to meetup!

    May 27, 2013

    • David M.

Excellent! Welcome to the group, Andrew! We'll see you tonight.

Thanks! Looking forward to meeting everyone.

I'll be covering a couple topics. One is the workflow I've been working with over the last 6 months, which dovetails nicely into Clint's bit. I'd also like to talk about some of the highlights of DrupalCon Portland.

    May 27, 2013

  • Andy S.

Using git & drush as part of the workflow would be awesome!

    May 6, 2013

    • Alex De W.

I'm sure one of our devs will be able to cover that. Clint?!?

      May 6, 2013

    • Clint B.

      Ok. Git it is :)

      May 9, 2013

  • Mark P.

Great... something demystifying the git and drush thing would feature here, too, I guess?

    May 5, 2013

  • Alex De W.

For sure. I'll put something together regarding development process. We've actually made quite a few changes over the past year in this area.

    May 4, 2013

  • Andy S.

I would also love to hear from the "Therefore" guys about the workflow, processes and experiences in using "Get Pantheon" for hosting Drupal sites.

    May 4, 2013

  • Mark P.

I'd like some talks on Drupal survival :)
So many errors just pop out of nowhere in Drupal and patches need to be applied and or created... it makes working with Drupal on the configurations side seriously precarious and almost ill advised without serious programming/technical presence. What say you? ;)
