I'm sitting in the lobby at the Westin in Lombard - if you're not here at Chicago TARDIS, you're missing a great event. But I did want to give all of you a heads-up about what's going to be happening next year, so you can start making plans.
- As I've mentioned before, we will be doing monthly screenings at Third Coast as well as various other venues and areas. So at least once a month, we'll be having a screening. Stories to include (but not limited to): The Three Doctors, The Parting of the Ways, The Ice Warriors, The Time Warrior, The Shakespeare Code, and a few surprises as well. (Just wait until April....just sayin')
- We're going to try to schedule meetups for our south side of the city - and our south suburban - members. Consider this the "Listening Tour of Rassilon" - these will be more social, and we're probably going to do a little more screening on these than usual. So if you live in Bridgeport, Hyde Park, near Midway Airport, or even further south....keep your eyes open.
- As far as the next Matt Smith season (post-THE SNOWMEN in December) - scheduling these will be a bit tricky. Hopefully, the BBC/BBC America will announce transmission dates sooner rather than later (hopefully, they'll avoid the two-days-before window they had with ASYLUM OF THE DALEKS). So trying to have group viewings of new episodes will be complicated, but we'll make every effort.
- Screenings will be scheduled 4 - 6 weeks from their planned date, so January screenings will be announced after the 12/08 meetup. Most members RSVP between 4 to 6 weeks from an event, so all that we're doing is making sure that we're not jumping the gun. This should hopefully avoid some of the snafus we've had in the past.
Thanks again for your support of the Chicago Doctor Who Meetup....and hopefully talk to you soon.
