North Wall Quay, Dublin
Come and join us in a spin to the gorgeous village of Howth. Our spins are aimed at those who wish to get out for a leisurely cycle on a Sunday morning and cover about 40km at a moderate pace, depending entirely on who shows up. They are often leaderless, so the exact route and pace will be decided by whoever shows up.
The route is about 40km in total back to the start, and very safe as much of it is via cycle path. We usually stop off in Howth for coffee/scone/(insert temptation of choice) and a chat for half an hour. This is a spin well within anyone's capability, whoever shows up can decide on the day what pace to take, please be considerate of everyone's various fitness levels.
Please come prepared for all eventualities, punctures, change in the weather, cash for emergencies, and bring a bicycle lock, bikes should always be locked if you stop for refreshments.
As a matter of safety I would request riders stay in single file on main roads, ensure their bike is well maintained, especially brakes, and always wear a helmet and high visibility clothing. Your health and safety is your responsibility.
We meet outside the Convention Centre by the River Liffey, and close to the Samuel Beckett Bridge... use these GPS coordinates as sometimes the map in meetup is not correct when it autogenerates each week: [masked], [masked], or simply google "convention centre, dublin".
Please be there on time, we leave at 10.30am, so aim to be there for 10.15... If you are marked as going but decide later you cannot attend make sure you change your RSVP, as other people might be counting on you showing up if they are not familiar with the various routes around Dublin.
Again I must emphasise our meetups are usually leaderless, although if I am free I will be there.
Should anyone wish to volunteer as a leader for this meetup group please get in touch.
