Düsseldorf Expat September Meetup :: 16th September :: O'Reillys Irish Bar

Hello folks! How are you all?

It appears that we're having a taste of what autumn could be like this year but don't give up hope for a few more warm days to come. I hope this message finds you good spirits, it is a reminder and a warm invitation for September's Düsseldorf Expat Meetup smile

We will try to keep this message as short as possible but there is a lot of news to pack so apologies in advance for the length of this text. We hope we could have a few moments of your time to read this message.

First, thank you all very much for coming to the O'Reillys meetup 19th August and our BBQ event 22nd August! Both events were a great success, the feedback from people who took part was very positive and we are glad everyone enjoyed both evenings. Some pictures from the BBQ event are posted on the website, if you wish to take a look follow this link:

The BBQ event was superbly managed by Pedro Pinho, Patrick Henriod, Carolin Beer & Mark Jessop - they did most of the work preparing for the event ensuring its success. We are also very grateful to Max Otto, Aurelian Hars, Fabien Courau for providing their barbecue grills and allow everyone to use them. We are sure there were two other individuals who also provided grills too but sadly we missed them before they left. If you are one of the two people who provided a grill that day, come find us at the next event so we can offer our sincere thanks!

It did rain at the end of the BBQ, we were a bit unlucky, but it was wonderful to see everyone who came along take the change of weather with humour! Many thanks again smile

The September Expat Meetup is coming soon! Thursday 16th September from 8pm at O'Reillys Irish Bar on Marktplatz. A warm welcome to all new members who have recently arrived in Düsseldorf or joined our group! This is a great opportunity to meet people who are from other nations which, we hope, helps everyone enjoy their life abroad. It is easy to join, no cost, everyone is welcome! Just turn up, buy a drink and introduce yourself to fellow members. We look forward to meeting you next Thursday and hope you will find time to join us often in the future!

If you are a member who regularly attends, here is another opportunity for you to catch up with friends and meet new members! Your support is invaluable - you always give new members a warm welcome which we greatly appreciate, thank you very much for this. We hope you continue to join us and we look forward to seeing you next Thursday smile

On a personal note, I would like say that this meetup will be my last as expat organizer and it will be Mark Jessop's first as the new Düsseldorf Expat Meetup organizer :) He will be supported by Carolin Beer, Patrick Henriod and Pedro Pinho and these four have done a superb job assisting me in running meetup events since March. I will explain more in an update Tuesday latest but for now I will say I have loved every moment of being part of a diverse international & local community with wonderful people as members. I'm damn lucky to have been given this opportunity & appreciate very much all your support. I would be very grateful if you would continue to give the same support to Mark, Caro, Pedro & Patrick as you have given me since 2008. To all of you, my sincere thanks.

All the best, the Düsseldorf Expat Meetup team
(Caro, Patrick, Pedro, Mark, Dinesh)

It was good but my biggest complaint is the upstairs in O'reilly''s so stuffy and hot...your beer get warm when you're only half way through it.

I'm new too, but I'm trapped at work (meeting, zzz), so doesn't look like I will make it now.... :-(
