This session covers the nuts and bolts of real estate investing, and draws on interviews with local investors and lenders. We'll review several real-life examples of completed projects and work through one possible investment together. Very interactive and (I hope) useful for those looking to get started (or continue on) in real estate investing. In the intro we'll cover the following investment approaches: owner-occupied income property, rent and hold, condo conversion, minor rehab ("flipping") and rehab/new construction. We'll talk about the tax aspects of real estate investing, present a financing overview, and discuss skills needed and "lessons learned" from local investors. Following the workshop, I'll provide attendees with a link to the full presentation and to numerous additional resources for locating, evaluating, and closing investments. These workshops are a community service of ePlace, Inc., a real estate brokerage firm in Cambridge and are run by Rachael Burger, a former realtor/agent, and active real estate investor and educator. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - This workshop runs from 6:00 - 7:30.
