Spring Medicine Wheel Sweat Lodge

Welcome to our first lodge of the Year. We have to wait till after the end of April due to fire danger, but this is the most beautiful time here at the Earthwalk Retreat. The real leafing out of the Forest is just beginning. and it is a perfect time of year for a camp out.

#### A beautiful ceremony of balance and wholeness, of cycles that bring renewal but also loss. It helps as humans to participate in this process of shedding the old to renew and birth the next cycle. There are cycles within cycles, so every day is a day of rebirth and renewal, of endings and loss. When we come to the lodge we heal our duality by embracing all of life and death and our lodge in May is to welcome and celebrate this new year and see what we want to pray for and what we want to release into the earth and offer to spirit. These are strong times and this is a beautiful way to pray with and for all Creation. People are welcome to come Saturday and camp out over night. We will have a fire circle in the evening and depending on the flow there might be ways you can help get the lodge ready. We will build the fire unless it is raining at 4pm.

Please let me know your eta and any special needs or concerns. Its good to arrive early to orient yourself and get settled. Water and power are available at most camping areas. You will want to bring something for the evening for yourself, and then we do a pot luck after the lodge and also bring snacks for the morning. I have a large pot of bean soup and so salads and chips and sides and fruit are all welcome.

We will begin the Lodge Ceremony at 10 AM on Sunday. We are on ceremonial time but usually we are completing the lodge around 3 and heading up for a pot luck feast and time to socialize. Besides food, you will need to bring a couple of towels, and cloths to be in the woods and cloths to be in the lodge. For the lodge it is good to have light fitting breathable cloths, shorts, and t-shirt or women often wear a skirt. Bring layers appropriate for the weather.

Bring a water bottle. High Blood Pressure is contra indicated. This lodge is a very receptive style lodge where mother nature holds us and invites us to relax and feel supported. It is not about endurance or forcing oneself or being masochistic. It is about releasing and not holding up or on or together or any of that...
