Our group parks at the restrooms at the EAST END of the main parking lot.
Central Ave south into the park. Turn left @ the guard shack where the traffic cones are set up. Huge parking lot on the left. Go straight a quarter mile to the East End of the parking lot and you'll see the restrooms.
Up to the towers, and out San Juan Rd if you like.
Come out and enjoy the park without the automobile traffic.
It's summer, be sure to bring plenty of water & nutrition.
Silent Sunday is always the 4th Sunday...
No host, And, you don't need one. It's a closed course. There's only one way up and there are signs to tell you which way to turn if you're not familiar. Two miles up the road is a small parking lot and a gate. That's San Juan Road, and it's the only other selection to ride to. Ride around the gate and it's four miles to San Juan Rockhouse, the first three downhill at 2%. Going to top of S. Mtn there's a stop sign at 6 miles. There's also a sign there with directions. Left goes a quarter mile to Dobbins lookout, right takes you to the towers. Toward the towers there's one more fork in the road another mile away, complete with a sign giving directions. Right to the towers, slightly over a mile, left goes to Hidden Valley parking lot a quarter mile. Doing all the options is referred to as doing The Four Points: The Towers, Hidden Valley, Dobbins Lookout & San Juan Rockhouse. And if you don't know where you are, just ASK. There will be a few hundred riders & hikers. Everyone is friendly and helpful.
