Many EBCOHO members are involved, and are finding housemates, forming study groups, and enjoying new friendships through the The Transition Network.

JULY 22, 2014: Series on Housing Options in the East Bay Continues

TTN-HOME's monthly series continues to address issues designed to help participants identify available housing options and develop a plan to realize their own long-term housing objectives. This series of monthly programs started in May with an overview of the twelve most likely housing options for seniors in the East Bay. The June meeting -- second in the series -- took a closer look at four of these options, with a panel of residents who live in affordable housing, shared housing and a limited equity co-op discussing their experiences, financial implications of their choices, the pluses and the challenges.

The July 22nd meeting - the third in our series -- will feature panelists of women discussing their experiences, the financial implications, and the plusses and challenges of the following choices:

Sacramento Street/BerkeleyCohousing Community

Phoenix Commons, a senior co-housing project in development, Oakland

Grand Lake Gardens, a Continuing Care Residential Community, Oakland

Penniman Court, a pocket neighborhood, Oakland

In addition, there will be ample time to network with others about these housing options.
