· This trip is for members only.
· When you sign up, you will be placed on waiting list status.
· After an evaluation process, you will be moved to the going list.
Evaluation criteria (in the interest of safety & your outdoor preference):
· It is based on your interest (type of hikes you like: difficulty, terrain, distance)
· Your fitness level and ability
· Your experience in the past 3 – 6 months
· If you have backed out the last minute twice in the past (preventing other members on waiting list to go), you should consider giving other members an opportunity to join my trips
(The above information is partly based on your profile description and partly on my observation if you have hiked with me recently)
It is important that you insert your recent hiking experience (within 6 months) into your favorite section of your profile. Don’t just tell me you have completed the Grouse Grind because GG is a 1 – 1.5 hours of sprinting whereas hiking is about endurance and of 4 – 8 hours duration and several hours away from the comfort of your car at trailhead.
The team will travel together at the same pace for the duration of the hike. Every hiker MUST be within visual distance to each other.
We will gather at Starbucks (Grouse Mtn) and take 1 - 2 cars to take the team to Lynn Headwaters Regional Park (starting point of the hike). We will hike deep into Lynn Valley, beyond Norvan Falls, up Hanes Valley to Crown Pass & Grouse The hike will end at Grouse Mtn Chalet We will take the gondola down to Grouse parking lot ($10 per person unless you have a Grouse annual pass) I will then drive the drivers whose cars were left at Lynn Headwaters parking lot to pick up their vehicles
