Lets do an informal book club! at our first meeting we'll pick a book to read, and a reasonable timeline to read it in.

See you there,

It has suddenly occurred to me that since I mentioned the Futurama episode that's partially based on the movie, I should share which episode that is. It's season 4, episode 17: War is the H-word.

We chose Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein. We were also going to watch the movie before the next meeting and discuss which we liked better. So far it's the book for me. The next meeting is tentatively set for March 17.

Is there an event created for the next meetup so we can RSVP?

I just got paged out & can't make it. Please please post the book & schedule. I'd really like it if we could alternate a classic title with a modern choice but starting with either is fine by me.

I just had a pet die, I can't make it. But I would like to follow up with the reading - thanks in advance Laura, for posting the information afterward.

Is there anyone in the University area who could give me a ride there and back? Busing's hard for me.

I'm already engaged with another event. Sorry!

If we can't make the first meeting, will you post the book to read so we can come next time with (hopefully) intelligent things to contribute? :)

Hi guys! It's the 124 street steeps (Glenora steeps) since it's less than a block from where I live! If it is too inconvenient for folks to get too we can talk about making a change. There no book yet, the first meeting will be to decide what to read and how often to meet.

How about the original H.G. Wells WAR OF THE WORLDS? Set in Victorian England...
