Sail the summer series at CYCSA
Looking for 1 or 2 experienced crew to sail on the J24 yacht Cookie Monster in the Cruising Yacht Club of SA (CYCSA) 2016/17 summer inshore series, including the 2 major summer regattas and J24 State Championships next March. J24s are a small one design keelboat, generally sailed by a crew of 5 with a total weight limit of 400Kg. Essential requirements for these 2 positions are genoa and spinnaker trimming experience, plus ability to helm if required. Preferred weight somewhere in the range 75-85 Kg. Cookie had some good results last year, ending the CYCSA inshore series in 3rd position on PHS. Looking to improve this year and start preparing for the 2018 J24 Nationals, tentatively scheduled to be sailed at CYCSA in January 2018. Program for this summer would mean sailing on average every fortnight, mostly on Saturdays but regatta weekends would include some Sundays. Early on some training days on weekends where inshore series races are not being sailed will be organised so that crew practice boat handling together, swap roles and develop further skills. Detailed program for summer available on request. Crew would need to become racing members of CYCSA and options and costs for this can be provided.

    What we're about

Adelaide Sailing is a social networking website which helps skippers find new crew and sailors find new yachts. Yacht owners post racing or cruising events at the website stating their crew requirements. The Adelaide Sailing website emails all members to let them know about the new opportunity to go sailing. With a click of a button those who fit the requirements can join the crew. Sailing is fun and friendly sport and beginners are welcome!
