What we'll do
This event will showcase the journey and results of some amazing Social Enterprises that have been supported by NVI Flinders. An update will also be given on the progress being made to establish South Australia’s Social Enterprise Peak Body.
Geena Süphke, Robbie Duffin, Noah Connolly & Dylan Egel from ‘Impacked’. ‘Impacked’ is a talented multi-disciplined student team from NVI’s undergrad Innovation and Enterprise program, with a solution for packaging waste.
Tania Guest and Sharon McGann from the Women’s Village, a social enterprise starting out in the southern suburbs of Adelaide, and a finalist in Venture Dorm Adelaide. The big vision is to create a Women’s Village. It will be a beautiful, welcoming community hub for women where they can come for support, connection, a sense of belonging or inspiration any time they need it. By offering a range of supportive professional and wellbeing services, creative and co-working hubs, and rest and relaxation spaces, the Village will offer a truly holistic approach to supporting the wellbeing of women.
Bert Verhoeven, Senior Lecturer - Innovation and Enterprise, NVI Flinders. Bert will discuss his own experience of founding and managing an international development organisation. He will also facilitate a discussion with the other speakers on `Can you learn to develop a social enterprise’.
South Australia’s Social Enterprise Peak Body:
Vita Maiorano Theresa Brown and Sarah Gun will give an update on behalf of the working group that is progressing the establishment of South Australia’s Social Enterprise Peak Body.
