What we're about
Find out about our free drop in meditation sessions held throughout the week.
Keep up to date about new courses and programmes which share simple meditation techniques and methods for training in meditation & compassion, which have been developed over centuries, yet help us deal with the challenges of everyday modern life.
Meditation and compassion have been shown to be beneficial in many ways, including bringing peace of mind, tackling stress, depression and other mental health problems. They can also help us to develop more kindness and warm-heartedness for ourselves, our families and those around us.
WHO ARE WE?
Rigpa offers those following the Buddhist teachings a complete path of study and practice, along with the environment they need to experience the teachings fully.
The Buddhist tradition of Tibet is recognized as one of the world’s most unique and distinctive spiritual cultures.
Rigpa presents the Buddhist tradition of Tibet in a way that is both completely authentic and relevant to the lives and needs of modern society.
Led by experienced meditators, we offer a complete introduction to meditation and show how you can unlock your natural confidence, compassion and creativity. You will gain a genuine experience of meditation and be introduced to the tools you need to take the benefits into every aspect of your life.
Whether you are looking for deeper instruction and support with your meditation practice we have something to offer you.
Open to all schools and traditions of Buddhist wisdom, and with the guidance and gracious patronage of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Rigpa offers those following the Buddhist teachings a complete path of study and practice, along with the environment they need to experience the teachings fully.
At the same time, we seek to explore how the wisdom and compassion of the Buddha’s teachings can benefit many different areas of life in today’s world.
Rigpa has now more than 130 centres in 41 countries around the world.
Our main focus is to make the Buddha’s teachings available as widely as possible, in a way that is authentic, accessible and beneficial for people of all ages, and from all walks of life. With this in mind, all Australian Rigpa centres offer a broad programme of courses, retreats, workshops and meditation evenings as well as a range of projects that aim to show how the teachings can be applied in different areas of society.
