Jelly at the Edge
Come along to The Edge at The State Library and join us for an afternoon of chatting, working, and the occasional philosophical, life-altering debate. Whether you're a coder, designer, artist, writer, musician, or anything in between, Jelly is for you. ( If you feel like hanging around afterwards, we normally head down the road to the pub for a drink and a chat.

What we're about

What is Jelly?

If you are a location independent worker, entrepreneur, designer, freelancer, tech head, artist, photographer, writer, thinker, blogger, programmer or ideas person, and you are stuck at home, staring at four walls, suffering from writer's block or just wanting to work in a group environment - then why don't you come on down to our Brisbane Jelly?

Jelly is a casual working event. It's taken place in over a hundred cities where people have come together (in a person's home, a coffee shop, or an office) to work for the day. We provide chairs and sofas, wireless internet, and interesting people to talk to, collaborate with, and bounce ideas off of.

You bring a laptop (or whatever you need to get your work done) and a friendly disposition.

Watch this video about Jelly (, read about it in Wired ( or watch a timelapse video ( of one of our Friday meetups.

But wait, but what IS a Jelly?

Jelly started in a New York studio in 2006 with roommates Amit and Luke, a couple of creative, location independent entrepreneurs who every now and then, wanted to come together and work in a friendly, social setting, instead of working alone day-in and day-out on their pursuits. They realised that they missed the creative brainstorming, sharing and communication of a traditional office, so they created Jelly!

Who can come to Jelly?

We see a lot of designers, developers, and internet types, but we've also had musicians, cooks, sound designers, tea sommeliers, product designers, photographers, writers, and more.

Some of us are entrepreneurs or freelancers. Others work in an office most of the time, but work at Jelly for fresh ideas and a change of pace.

No matter what you do or what you create, you're welcome to come to Jelly and share your talent and learn from others.

So, see you at the next Jelly!
