What we're about
A group established by Geshe Jampa Gyaltsen, Tibetan Buddhist monk who studied for 28 years at Sera Jey Monastery in India receiving teachings from a number of important teachers including His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Geshe la has recently moved to East Brighton, Melbourne and he wishes to offer instruction, teachings, meditation and Q & A on Buddhism.
Buddhism involves transforming or training the mind through study, meditation and practice. It aims to provide us with a greater understanding of how our mind works and which factors lead to happiness or unhappiness so that we have more control over our lives. As a result we find more peace, fulfillment and lasting meaning in our lives.
This is a rare opportunity to receive teachings, ask questions and investigate one of the world's great wisdom traditions with a teacher who has had rigorous training in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
Topics covered will include: The Four Noble Truths, twelve links, karma, compassion, love, three principal paths, interdependence, mindfulness, patience, tantra, concentration and wisdom. Questions welcome.
There will be Sunday morning teachings 11am-12pm and Thursday evening teachings 5.30pm-6.30pm. Classes are drop in, by donation. Rear 14 Parklands Cres, East Brighton, Vic.
