Experience stillness and spread a wave of morning calm and peace into the city.
For a calm, focused and empowering way to start the day, take time out and join us once a week for the practice of meditation and recharge (and change!) the mind with peace, clarity and balance. The half hour meditations offer guidance through gentle commentary, soothing music and a bit of quiet. Suitable both for experienced meditators and those new to meditation. Join a growing community spreading calm into the city every Thursday morning from the heart of the city, Federation Square - it's the place to be! :) Please note that this is a FREE event - all welcome. For details of special upcoming events in the city (e.g. special guests / exquisite music and meditation / UN International Day of Peace meditation), keep an eye out on http://calminthecity2015.eventbrite.com.au or please email us on [masked] to be added to our mailing list - we only email once in a long while! Below - a beautiful poetic piece capturing our vision which was written for us by the lovely Barbara Bossert-Ramsey... Come and join the meditation in Federation Square Nothing is impossible when human beings use the powers they are capable of – and we are capable of much more than we ever imagined. Just imagine what is possible when we sit together - holding the same kind of thought at the same time - meditating on peace and calm. We have come here for this – to focus our thoughts together – and there are so many people in other parts of the world holding the same hopes, focusing the same thoughts... meditating in their own ways. And does it work like the concept of Critical Mass? Just imagine a winter lake – one ice crystal here and another there. One, plus one, plus one and more and more, but still they are separate. Then one final crystal forms and in a moment billions of ice crystals are pulled into being by the last one. Suddenly a lake is covered with one sheet of ice. It could be the same for the world – millions of peaceful souls, one here and another there. More and more people finding their own inner peace.- sending peace to the world.. but still they are separate islands. Then perhaps – just perhaps – one more soul joins this invisible network - and in that instant the vibrations of peace will affect the entire human family. In that instant the world could change. And it doesn’t have to be someone wealthy and influential. It doesn’t have to be a world leader or the head of a religion. It just has to be someone. Come and join us in Federation Square.
