What we'll do

We are officially launching our first office in Brasov and the 4th regional center in Romania. Get to know us on April 4, starting at 6 P.M. The entrance is free, but the seats are limited. We prepared for you a nice agenda with technical sessions and meeting the team moments.

Our guest of honor is Vlad Mihalcea, Java Champion and author of the bestselling Java Book on Amazon: High-Performance Java Persistence. He will hold a presentation on Transactions and Concurrency Control Patterns.

Transactions and Concurrency Control are of paramount importance when it comes to enterprise systems data integrity. However, this topic is very tough since you have to understand the inner workings of the database system, its concurrency control design choices (e.g., 2PL, MVCC), transaction isolation levels and locking schemes.

During the session, Vlad will explain what data anomalies can happen depending on the transaction isolation level, with references to Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. He will also demonstrate that database transactions are not enough (especially for multi-request web flows) by showing you multiple application-level transaction patterns based on both, optimistic and pessimistic, locking mechanisms.

Two of our Senior Software Engineers will share their expertise too. Alex Bartis will talk about a complex mobile project, while Dan Nicolici will approach Tackling Performance Issue. His presentation will debate the issue of performance in the context of a software system and how to approach it.
