What we're about
|| UPDATE 2018: Thanks to all for your interest in this group. I'm currently focused on studio work but look forward to creating more meetups in the future. In the meantime, if you have any questions/suggestions please message me: firstname.lastname@example.org. ||
Digital Creatives is an education based meetup to share skills and process work. We love a good skill swap and sharing our process/stories is an awesome way of doing this. We have so much amazing talent in our city and I envision as a community catalyzing more opportunities for us to meet. I will be using facebook for posting progress/updates --> Facebook - Digital Creatives Melbourne (https://www.facebook.com/Digital-Creatives-Melbourne-141281896490172/)
If you use a computer to design or create visuals then this group is for you. Students, hobbyists, and professionals alike are welcome.
Digital art/design is stuff like: 3d modeling, VFX, game design, environment artists, 2d animation, Photoshop, video and computer animation, lighting artists, texturing, vray, Maya, Adobe Suite, architectural visualization, product rendering, photography, concept art, character design, video production, Revit + BIM, graphic design etc, etc. Artstation.com (https://www.artstation.com/) is chocked full of examples.
I will be posting other regular meetups like a 3d modeling help sessions/courses , quick networking sessions, image bash/creation tutorials and boxed co-lab projects to learn more about each others work and skill-up. I'm open to suggestions too. This group is as much me as it you and the community.
I'm currently working towards creating a catalyst space for digital nomads to share, grow and earn their potential. I'd like to find co-creators to breath life into a warehouse space in North Melbourne: to share process, project feedback, redefine workplace interaction, study efficient technology use in design and challenge our personal skills and knowledge. The studio will be an education based space with free co-work allocation for community engagement and a 'design mill' of visiting international to share and contribute their experiences and skill sets to Australian industry. Tough love, categorized industry knowledge, banter and networking. Having a collective of individuals excelling at their best and sharing their experience will put Melbourne on the world map for digital design/art.
a bit about me: I'm a digital artist and design consultant for small to medium business, startups, independents and architects. My focus is communicating their intent through still imagery and concept idea development. I specialize in 3ds Max and Photoshop, providing professional training in both packages. I balance computer time outdoors, climbing ,surfing and currently developing a tiny house project. Here's me : www.t2q.com.au (http://www.t2q.com.au/)
