• The Future of Fashion and Technology

    Needs a location

In 2015, FashHack introduced the first fashion tech hackathon in Australia (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmD5GtwZxwg). While it is still in its infancy in Australia, fashion tech is fast becoming accepted and adopted by the consumer market within all major fashion hubs around the world. In 2016, we witnessed fashion tech taking The Met Gala by storm, with wearable tech leading the way, and virtual reality also remaking the fashion show experience. High octane and unmissable, we invite you to our pilot meetup to explore the commercial applications of Fashion Technology and how this industry will evolve from what we wear, to how we feel and experience our clothing; and how it is becoming part of us with the rise of wearable tech and virtual reality. FEATURED SPEAKERS: WEARABLE TECHNOLOGY • Allen Liao (http://www.linkedin.com/in/acliao), Founder of Tzukuri (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rw78E8hJ-UY) Allen Liao is the Founder of Tzukuri, and wearable technology Product Architect. A wearable technology company, Tzukuri is designing and manufacturing the future of eyewear. It is currently set to release their first product - the world's first unloseable glasses, which hit $12,000 in sales in the first 30 minutes of its initial launch. We can all do the math from there. More than a fashion tech brand, Tzukuri has successfully mastered the art between form and function in wearable technology. Forbes has forecasted the wearable tech industry to be worth $34 billion by 2020, and is set to change a lot of things in fashion. We can't wait to share Allen's story with you. VIRTUAL REALITY • Oliver Rozynski (http://www.linkedin.com/in/oliverrozynski), Co-Founder of Acme Virtual (http://acmevirtual.com) Oliver has worked on a wide range of projects in the VR space, some for international brands, governments and even funded his own tech startups. Oliver believes that, "Virtual reality will accelerate our creative and intellectual development, remove boundaries created by materialistic thinking and encourage the sharing of meaningful experiences. In time, it will be a place to live out our dreams, face (and forget) our fears, open new doors in our minds and shape a useful environment for our development and evolution." Oliver also currently works with global fashion brands in the application of VR. With brands such as Myer, and Coach applying VR to runway shows and retail, we will explore how VR is set to change our experiences entirely. Panel moderated by Victoria Lai (http://www.linkedin.com/in/thevictorialai), Founder of FashHack (http://www.fashhack.com.au) --- Agenda: 6:00pm - Bump in 6:30pm - Panel talk 7:30pm - Wrap up Our FashHack Sydney Meetup is an extension of FashHack's global fashion tech community initiative, launching Q3 2016.
