Sahaja Yoga Queensland is a community group that offers free meditation classes across the state. Our aim is simple: To help people live a happier life!

To join a class, you don't need to have any special equipment or prior knowledge of meditation. Booking is appreciated as it gives us an idea how many people are going to attend a class but not required (if you don't book and show up that's fine!)

In these classes you will learn the basics of meditation in a relaxed and friendly environment and can enjoy all the benefits that come with it. So feel free to join if you are interested in meditation, want to learn more about yourself, or simply want a few minutes of peace and silence in your busy life!

Well, simply put, meditation is the state of thoughtless awareness. A state where you are not thinking but are completely alert and aware. Sounds simple but if you’ve ever tried to just stop thinking without focusing on anything specific, you’ll know it’s not that easy! According to Sahaja Yoga, thoughtless awareness can only be achieved after "Self-Realization". Self-Realization is a spiritual awakening which lifts the attention above the thoughts and brings it back to the present moment. Sahaja Yoga and the technique of achieving this spiritual awakening was developed by Shri Mataji in the 70's and now Sahaja Yoga is practiced in more than 100 countries all over the world.
