What do we mean by meditation? Well, simply put, meditation is the state of thoughtless awareness. A state where you are not thinking but are completely alert and aware. Sounds simple but if you’ve ever tried to just stop thinking without focusing on anything specific, you’ll know it’s not that easy!
According to Sahaja Yoga, thoughtless awareness can only be achieved after "Self-Realization". Self-Realization is a spiritual awakening which lifts the attention above the thoughts and brings it back to the present moment. Sahaja Yoga and the technique of achieving this spiritual awakening was developed by Shri Mataji in the 70's and now Sahaja Yoga is practiced in more than 100 countries all over the world.
