Veterans and Active Military Service members, we salute YOU! Come for a free relaxing yoga class every Wednesday from 3:30 - 4:30, sponsored by Karma Yoga Outreach, Inc. No experience or flexibility is required. Yoga has been shown to benefit veterans by improving mobility, reducing body pain, relieving stress, improving balance, improving sleep, and more. Come with a friend or family member (or your service animal) for free to experience the sense of calm and ease a regular yoga practice can bring. Classes are led by Harmony Ananda, who is specially trained in Connected Warriors Yoga, an organization dedicating to helping veterans through yoga.
Night owls, rejoice! Find your groove through a playful Vinyasa flow with fun music, followed by a chance to wind down with restorative poses and guided meditation to help you get to sleep. All skill levels are welcome, but some previous yoga experience is recommended. This ongoing class is a fundraiser for Karma Yoga Outreach Inc. a non-profit organization which provides free yoga classes to Veterans, kids on the spectrum, and people in addiction recovery. Generously led by Heather Tweed. Cost: Love Offering (cash only)

Are you curious about yoga, but been afraid to try it? Do you think you can't do yoga because you're not flexible? Do you want to reduce stress and learn how to relax more fully? Are you ready to change your mind about your body? Do you want to connect with like minded, health conscious people? Join Maureen Gillum, RTY-200, for a 10 week Introduction to Yoga course that can get you started on a new life path. The class meets once a week, on Mondays at 10:30 am, so you can come after work and make a peaceful transition to the rest of your evening. No prior yoga experience is necessary. You'll learn the basics of standing poses, beginning back bends, easy twisting postures, seated poses, and the components of sun salutations. By the end of 10 weeks, you'll have increased strength and flexibility, a better understanding of your mind/body/breath connection, and you'll be learning to be compassionate with yourself and others, as you recognize how we are all interconnected. Basic yoga philosophy will be taught, as well as breathing techniques, beginning meditation, and how to relax in Savasana. This is more than a yoga class at the gym! Classes begin October 7 and run through Dec. 9th Drop in rate is $15 for each one-hour class, but sign up for the whole series and get 10 classes for $100 and a free yoga mat to take home.
