What we're about

This is a group for people who love being creative in all of its forms. Writing, sketching, painting, theatre, video-graphy or photography, mosaics, music, you name it.

Are you ready to discover what you can do? Discover something new?

Why is creativity important in everyday life?

It not only makes life infinitely interesting and fulfilling however it has been shown that creative people are more inventive, imaginative, more able to problem-solve, create, and communicate.

We often think about creativity as making something, but in fact the root meaning of the word means ‘to grow’.

I spent over 15 years working as a Senior Leader in the government/corporate world, and have also spent many years practising behavioural psychology both within a clinical and training environment and I know first hand how much growth and expansion can occur personally and professionally by embracing our creative side.

The last 12 months have been challenging for me, having worked in a fast pace and challenging industry my body decided to come to a halt. I was hospitalised off and on for several months, I lost my speech (a pretty difficult obstacle when you have spent over 28 years as a presenter and speaker), and noticed a range of other challenges but throughout this ordeal, there was one thing that I enjoyed the most, being creative.

Whilst in hospital and on the couch convalescing, I painted, I beaded, I created dream catchers, I undertook automatic and creative writing, I took up photography, I created sand mandala's, I coloured in, and so much more. I have spent over 15 years teaching Mindfulness, yet here I was living it each day, just in another way!

We have a growing group of people who have been asking for a space to meet, and enjoy workshops and social events that engage our creative nature, so here we are.

From craft and cocktail nights, to calligraphy and origami, jewellery making, scrap-booking, natural soap and candle making, from crochet and knitting classes, painting, art classes, music, creative writing and more - there is something for everyone!

Our light-hearted, and super fun get together's will help group members get in touch with their creative side as well as the inner workings of their minds, to create and stir intention, motivation, passion, relationships and self acceptance through art & creativity.

We are a loving and welcoming group, and there is no experience required, just bring along your willingness to relax into whatever you are learning or doing.

All art skill levels welcome! We hope that you will come out and support the amazing things our community offers and enjoy many Creative Connection Times.

Ps: please also let us know what you creative activities that you are interested in or of any skills that you could possibly share and we look forward to seeing you soon.
