What we're about
This is a monthly social connection group for Highly Sensitive People (HSP's) that would like to meet other HSP's and create new friendships.
The term HSP was coined by Dr Elaine Aron whom pioneered the research on this subject and has written a few books about it. Dr Aron has a self test to see if you are highly sensitive at www.hsperson.com. The highly sensitive person generally has a rich and deep inner thought life, is highly observant and empathetic, has sensitive emotions and senses, may experience social anxiety or depression, needs more quiet time than others, tends to be introverted but might not be, and tends to really enjoy nature, animals/pets, sustainability, gardening, well-being, spirituality, philosophy, and really enjoy the company of other HSP's.
The groups activities will generally be low cost, quieter, day and evening, nature-loving activities that might sometimes encourage gentle exercise. Picnics around the Coast, Botanical Gardens, Beach or Waterfront Walks, Fireside Nibblies, Board Games/Cards, Fishing, Kayaking just off-shore, Cafe's, Art Gallery, Local Nature Sights, Ferry Ride, Lunch at a waterside cafe, gentle bushwalk or Movies etc. Other ideas welcome.
The groups activities will move around the Central Coast and Newcastle to make it accessible to people no matter where they live.
