Who are we?
Toastmasters is a non-profit club that helps people become awesome and confident public speakers.

How does a Pyrmont Toastmasters Meetup look like?
Toastmasters Meetups have two key elements: prepared speeches and short impromptu speeches.

What are the prepared speeches exactly?
During a prepared speech, a member of the club voluntarily gives a speech based on specific topics. Speeches normally range between 5-7 minutes and allow members to improve their communication skills. Some speeches can be research-based while others might focus on storytelling or body language, etc. This is followed by a short evaluation of the speech that gives handful of tips on how to take public speaking to the next level.

What about impromptu/improvisational speeches?
A member of the club invites different people to the stage and gives them a topic they have to talk about for about 1 minute. This exercise allows members to improve their improvisational/impromptu speaking skills. Guests can take part in impromptu speeches if they are keen. Impromptu speeches are also followed by short evaluations.
