Jung and the Afterlife
The possibility of an afterlife is just as plausible as a cold, final death. Jung hinted that consciousness does not cease and this leads to the dual questions of what is indeed consciousness that may survive and what might that look like at the time of death. Having regard to different traditions and Jung’s description of the Self as immortal, Les Stein will explore the concept of an afterlife and whether that is an idea that we can really entertain. Les Stein is a Jungian Analyst in private practice in Sydney. His book “Depth Psychology of the Mystical Experience” will be published shortly by Routledge in London. Cost: $25 for the public and $15 for Sydney Jung Society members. You can join the Society at the door on the night or through our main website at Look forward to seeing you there. Robert

What we're about

The C G Jung Society of Sydney is a non-profit association that was founded in 1975 to further the psychological & philosophical perspectives and practices of Swiss psychologist C G Jung and the body of thought that has developed from his original work. We provide a rich and varied program of public talks, workshops, reading groups and other events to promote understanding of Jung's perspective in areas like psychology, philosophy, alchemy and dream analysis.

Our Meetup group is a way of assisting enthusiasts to develop their interest in Jung's work by informing them of upcoming Society events.
