What we're about

I wanted to do that... Just not alone! (FREE & SAFE)

* A community is great because of its members, and we need you to make it great!

We live in an ever-shrinking world, where the technologies and transportation systems make it easier than ever to connect people from every corner of the world. We also have the fortune to live in a quality and vibrant city that is home to people of diverse backgrounds and life experience. The Vancouver International Network gives you an opportunity to experience some of the many international cultures that the city hosts, to share your knowledge of cultural heritage, interests/hobbies or professional expertise with other members of the group, and make new friends while doing so.

The mission of this group is as implied by the name of the group--we'd like to provide good company as well as a positive and safe environment for members to experience things that, for whatever reasons, you longed for but weren't able to do before. You'll also get to know things that you can do and enjoy in Vancouver through the meetups proposed by your peers. It is also a hope of our group to promote cross-cultural dialogues, sharing, understanding, and peer supports through a variety of local activities and events, as well as international trips.

But we (organizers) are few and you are many, and this means that to work toward these goals we need the proactive participation and supports from at least some members of the community. This group is unique because of our members, and we look forward to meeting you and facilitate the meetup ideas you propose.

------------------------------

Dear friends,

This new group is part of an effort for establishing a network of global meetups, currently being fast deployed in major cities worldwide, including London, Paris, Vancouver, New York, LA, Toronto, Montreal, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Thailand... And more to come!

Our only agenda is to build up a global community (in the format of meetup groups at this stage), where participants get to mix and mingle in a safe and friendly environment, have fun and adventures together or establish long-lasting friendship and fully enjoy what the city's got to offer.

We believe that this service can be offered for free, and we need your participation and encouragement to make it happen.

If you are fond of our vision, welcome to join and check it out. Invite your friends who may be interested. We appreciate your supports, volunteering, and valuable inputs, but nothing is mandatory except for mutual respects to other members in the community.

Spaces - British Columbia, Vancouver - Space - Gastown

Prepare to taste and rate 10 or more red and white wines. And take a free bottle of wine home with you at the end too! We are looking for 35 members of our community to pick up a free bottle of wine and taste different white and red wines using Quini on your smartphone or tablet, to get your true opinion about the wines. For all first comers, please be there by 4:30 so we can make sure your mobile device is prepped, that you know how things work, and that we can start on time. If you have attended our events before and know what to do, please be sure to arrive before 5:00. The event starts to wind down at 6:30 and shuts at 7:00. Your free wine bottle will be waiting to go home with you too! Note that you will need at least 45 minutes to go through the wine tasting using Quini and to socialize, so please plan your parking accordingly. Please RSVP quickly with your name and we'll set your FREE take-home wine bottle aside for you. As everyone who has attended our events in the past knows, every event has been full and often oversubscribed by a large margin. So sign up ASAP. Please RSVP directly to this invite. We'll need at least 20 RSVPs to proceed. If you have a friend or family member who is 100% they can attend and they are not part of this Meetup group, please ask them to join and RSVP. NOTE: When you RSVP, please enter your email. If you do not enter it you may be moved to a waiting list. We need to be able to reach you to confirm attendance. CRITERIA: You MUST be a wine consumer who on average currently buys 2 or more wine bottles each month, or orders wine at least twice in restaurants each month. NEW: Quini reserves the right to limit entry to the tasting room, on a first-come-first-served basis. Cheers, Your Quini Meetup Team • What to bring and do: A WELL CHARGED smartphone or tablet. • If you haven't yet, sign up to Quini at MAG.quiniwine.com, NOT at quiniwine.com. Complete your user profile including age, city location, and wine experience. Expect to have fun, meet great people and expand your experience with wine.

Learn how to connect with anyone in Vancouver (pumpkin spice latte edition)

You've seen this event before right? Have you been thinking of coming and decided not to? Why? Maybe now is the time for you to make the jump! It's the beginning of the fall... Have you ever noticed how hard it is to meet people in this city? Maybe you are new to Vancouver, or maybe you have been here for years and all of your friends moved away or got married and now you are stuck watching Netflix instead of living your life! Whatever the reason fo the situation, it's gotta change. Vancouver is such a great town but it can be socially awkward here... This event is all about helping you get more social and put yourself out there in a way that makes people excited to see you again. It's 2019 but not for long! We are going to discuss how to get really social before 2020. There are a few simple shifts your need to make and you could be connecting with all sorts of people everyday EFFORTLESSLY! The fact is, humans are social creatures and we need to feel connected to a larger group. But social networking doesn't do the job... we need real world relationships to feel fulfilled in a deep way. At this workshop you will not only learn some really cool stuff around evolutionary psychology and how to use it to finally have the kind of friendships and more that you have always wanted but also you will meet like minded people who are also on this wavelength, the kind of people who are sick of sitting around watching time pass, the kind of people who want to build a tribe! These FREE events are some of the most highly rated events in the city, you don't want to miss this one! We ask that you buy a drink or snack from the venue to help offset the rental costs.
