Morning Hoops Basketball Classes for Men and Women
This 60 minute workout is an opportunity for both males and females to get involved in basketball! Train with a real Coach as we welcome participants of any skill or fitness level to come along and have a go! We add music to the mix as we take you on a basketball journey through the FUNdamentals of our sport. You need not know everything or even anything about basketball, just bring your eagerness to learn and your friendly attitude and you will fit in just fine. Our programmes are designed to develop sport-specific skills, improve fitness, flexibility, enhance your communication, and of course have loads of fun! To insure we are covering the key fundamental areas of our sport, we have developed a 12 week programme.. Week 1. HP Stations/Workout all areas Week 2. Footwork Week 3. Ball-Handling Week 4. Passing & Cutting Week 5. HP Stations/Workout all areas Week 6. Shooting Week 7. Defense Week 8. Spacing & Getting open Week 9. HP Stations/Workout all areas Week 10. Early Transition Week 11. Moving without the ball Week 12. Attacking & Individual Offense * You can join in at any time, you do not need to wait to start on week 1. We are teaching a theme each week so that all classes align to a common outcome. Obviously the more you come the more you will put the different pieces of the puzzle together! Cost : Friday Classes are $20/casual or $180/10 class pass Saturday Classes are $25/casual or $200/10 class pass (passes are valid for 6 months). Class bookings : No need to pre-book for the classes. Note : If Meetup says only a few are attending, don't be disheartened as this is one of many avenues for people to connect with the Hoops sessions. So come anyway! On the day : meet inside KGV on the basketball courts around 10 minutes before the class starts. Here we will check you in and you can pay via cash or card. What to wear : Comfortable training gear and sport shoes. Matching outfits are highly recommended and prizes are known to be awarded for this. What to bring : A bottle of water (there's a water cooler to refill your bottle by the court) AND there's fantastic showering facilities and change rooms for you to use free of charge at the venue

What we're about

This group is an opportunity for both males and females (over 16 years of age) to get involved in basketball.

We have designed the programme with the intention of developing sport-specific skills, set a platform to adopt basketball IQ, enhance communication, increase fitness, flexibility and have loads of fun as you learn!

Each 60 minute session is built around the development of 5 key fundamental basketball areas;
1. Footwork
2. Ball-Handling
3. Passing
4. Shooting
5. Defense

These classes are also great for those who are currently participating in social or competitive competitions, so bring your team mates with you and watch your game transform together!

We also have our "sister" class, Lady Hoops which is on at this venue every Wednesday evening from 6pm.
