What we're about

"A day without laughter is a day wasted."-Charlie Chaplin. Top up your laughter bucket and stress resilience with a bracing regular ONE hour laughter session. Open to all ages - FREE (donations welcome) In a safe, supported and nurturing environment - facilitated exercises based on imaginative play interspersed with gentle stretching, yoga breathing and rhythmic clapping are designed to stimulate a laughing response ~ from silent laughing or shy twittering or singing laughter to roaring deep belly laughs. Using group dynamics this laughter becomes contagious - passed on, shared, transferred, re-ignited and intensified. Medical research supports the therapeutic benefits of laughing, particularly for stress relief. Imagine what a regular hour of laughter can do for you. Laughter yoga supports healthy living (it is fundamentally an exercise class), fosters a positive attitude to help you face daily challenges and increases optimism to help you move towards realising our hopes and dreams. If you are well, happy and free - your positive light like a ripple will spread out to your family, friends, community and beyond - the world is a better place because you have laughed. Our group's name ‘Laughter Melody Yoga’ was inspired by Serene West's quote "Laughter is a melody, A concert from the heart, A tickling by the angels, Creative living art. Laughter heals and comforts, It's sometimes gentle ~ sometimes bold, Laughter is a freeing dance, Performed within the soul." Your facilitator Melody Braithwaite is an certified Laughter Yoga Leader from Dr Madan Kataria founder of this world-wide laughter movement.
