What we'll do
We're back again for our final meet up of the year, before the summer holidays. After recharging our batteries we'll be kicking things off again in late February!
Speakers this month will focus on API security measures and best practises for designing platform-agnostic public Rest APIs. Further details of the talks are below.
Tharindu Edirisinghe (Graduate Researcher, La Trobe University)
"OWASP API Security Top 10 - The Need For Enterprise Solutions For Managing API Security"
Tharindu will explore how enterprise API management solutions can be utilised for managing the security of APIs throughout their life-cycle and also walk you through the latest addition to the API security standards, which is the OWASP API Security Top 10 list.
Andrei Gridnev (Senior Developer, Up Banking)
"Best Practises In Designing Public Rest APIs"
In this talk Andrei will discuss the best practices that can be applied to designing pubic REST APIs, making them easier to use for third-party developers. The talk will be platform agnostic so the practices will be applicable to APIs built in Ruby, Java, .NET, JS or whatever language/platform of your choice.
Again, there will be plenty of drinks and pizza's going around on the night. We look forward to seeing both familiar and new faces!
